Container standards
In order to carry out international container multimodal transport effectively, it is necessary to strengthen container standardization and further improve container standardization. Container standards are divided into international standards, national standards, regional standards and company standards according to the scope of use.
1. International standard container
It refers to the international standard container constructed and used according to the international standard formulated by Technical Committee 104 of international organization for Standardization (ISO).
Container standardization has gone through a development process. Since its establishment in 1961, ISO / TC104 Technical Committee has made many supplements, additions, additions and modifications to the international standards for containers. The current international standards are the first series of 13 kinds, with the same width (2438 mm), four kinds of lengths (12192mm, 9125mm, 6058mm, 2991mm) and four kinds of heights (2896mm, 2591mm, 2438mm and 2438mm). See table for details. Both series 2 and 3 were downgraded to technical reports.
2. National standard container
According to the international standards and considering the specific situation of their own countries, governments formulate their own container standards.
The external dimensions, limit deviation and rated weight of various types of containers in the current national standard "external dimensions and rated weight of containers" (gb1413-85) are shown in the table.

3. Regional standard container
The standards for such containers are formulated by regional organizations according to the special conditions of the region, and such containers are only applicable to the region. For example, containers built according to the container standards established by the European Union of international Railways (VIC).
4. Company standard container
Some large container shipping companies have formulated the standards of container shipping companies according to their specific conditions and conditions. Such containers are mainly used in the transportation scope of the company. For example, the 35ft container of the US Navy and land company.
In addition, there are many non-standard containers in the world. For example, the non-standard length containers include 35ft container of American navy and land company, 45ft and 48ft container of President shipping company; non-standard height containers mainly include 9ft and 9.5ft high containers; non-standard width containers include 8.2ft containers. Driven by economic benefits, more and more containers with a total weight of 24ft in the world are now more and more popular.
